The Columbia Icefields - Then & Now

We thought it would be interesting to see the difference in the glaciers since we were here in 1970.  Our conclusion was simply that the higher they were in the mountains, the less they had changed.

The most startling change was in this glacier. In 1970 it was right up to the parking area. Now we parked beyond the hill in the foreground, and still had quite a hike up to the glacier.  Yes, Al Gore, we can see it for ourselves!
