CAMPING

Then...   In 1970 we either camped or slept in the car.  We had a small canvas tent, white gas stove and lantern and sleeping bags.  The Prince Albert National Park campground seemed to have fairly new facilities. We thought the electric hand dryers were luxurious -- I could dry my long hair. Campsites were $1.50 a night!

Now....   On this trip we have a state of the art tent with aircraft aluminum poles and lightweight nylon fabric and we can put it up in about 5 minutes. We have a propane stove and lantern, electric hot plate, two Cabela's folding armchairs and a screen house. We used our sleeping bags on an electric Aerobed and Thermarest mattresses.  The campground facilities are still very nice, but this time we paid over $70 for two nights and a campfire permit.

  1. Check out that hair!! And I can still smell the canvas of that old tent--- when it rained, if you touched it, it started to drip everywhere!!
